Join us for a senior brewers lunch and talk from David Bruce of Bruces Brewery and Firkin pubs!
About the talk
David Bruce will talk through his career journey, starting in 1979, covering his time working with Courage and Theakstons, then the creation and growth of Bruce’s Brewery and the Firkin Pubs, and later his involvement in the Slug and Lettuce chain. David will also talk about his recently published book The Firkin Saga.
Lunch will be available to purchase at the venue, accompanied by a selection of award-winning beers.
Speaker:
David Bruce is a serial entrepreneur who has worked since 1966 in the international brewing and leisure industries. Following the sale in 1988 of Bruce’s Brewery and the Firkin Pubs, David created with his wife, Louise, The Bruce Trust, thereby embarking on a wide-ranging philanthropic career in addition to his many entrepreneurial activities.
In June 2021, David was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for his role as Founding Trustee of The Bruce Charitable Trust and as immediate past President of The Kennet & Avon Canal Trust.
